    Stump Jump 2011?

    Cat 2/3 Clydesdale - 200+ lbs 15 miles (2 laps)?

This is the only option I see on their schedule for the fatties. Does this seem right to you? Shouldn't they have a 1 lap race for us as well?

Edit: I sent them an email about it and they corrected this. It is now shown as a white wave 1 lap!

partially agree - are you talking about the 5 top finishers from last year who each finished around 40 minutes or are you talking about the ones who are actually fat and need to ride more laps to lose the weight?

    Ha, the latter.
Go to any restaurant in Spartanburg, and you are surrounded by people who are a couple meals away from an oxygen tank and a Wal-mart scooter.
Let em move dat azz as much as possible.

what about a group ride after the race then? I'm sure there will be more than enough folks up for the ride.

1 lap is just a warm-up. They should route the race over to Dairy Ridge and make it a 25 mile course.
Friends don let friends ride road bikes.

No kidding! i was really hoping they would so I could learn some new trails. I'm getting a little tired of the same loop, same direction.

PLUS>>>> They did away with age groups for the Cat 1 Women AND combined it with the Pros. Can't they give an old lady a break?

And it's too damn early in the year.

If anyone would like to see a full list of my excuses for blowing off racing this year, i'll need to send you a thumb drive, I don't think it will upload due to size.

Signed up already for Rock Creek/Stump Jump

Well, this is in Chattanooga on Oct 1st..it`s a 50k..trail race on gnarly singletrack. That`s 31 miles however you can not use a bike and you have to do it on foot as in running.
I think my bicycles have become my "recovery day" rest periods...hmmmmmmm
Amazing how things change as one gets older

There should be a 2 lap minimum for any class, especially Clydesdale SS. We're in it for the pain man!!!

Was it mostly slick in the flats? I am riding in the first wave and can't decide if I need to do a last minute tire change. I have a small block 8 on the back at the moment.

Yep, I did a lap tonight at 6, and it was fine. I had a "dry" tire on the back as well. It should be dry and fast by tomorrow for sure.
I heard that they had 240 racers preregistered.

The trails were perfect on race day. There was one mud hole I can remember down near the river but easily avoidable. Beautiful day, on the bike, bs'ing with the other racers = life is good. 8 out of the 18 Cat 2 women.

Hats off to Jenna, The race and set-up was great. It awesome to see all the bikes packed into the starting area.
I accomplished one of my goals this year. I did not get passed by any girls!

We drove up from Florida and had a great time this past weekend. I would have to agree the Base Class should have been 2 laps, but it was like a time trail. Loved the Course. Here is 2 videos I took from the weekend. The kids race and 40 to 49.
