Good job! Pisgah Area Sorba Casual Pace Ride 041011

Pisgah Area Sorba Casual Group Ride 041011. Join use this Sunday April 10th at 9:00am for a casual pace P.A.S. group ride. 40 miles. 9,000+ ft of elevation gain.
Classic Pisgah singletrack! Squirrel Gap is a continuous 1.5 ft wide singletrack trail (at least that's what we call it) hinged to the mountainside for miles. See link below for the route.

If you ride that at a casual group pace you better bring lights 'cause it'll be dark before you get to Buckhorn on your way home. And if this is some sort of PMBAR preparation then you might as well go up Black to start with. BTW - who is manning the checkpoints?

Your right it is an advanced ride at a casual pace. I should have looked more closely when I copied and pasted it. That's what I get for taking short cuts. Thank You for pointing that out.
Total Trip Time should be between 6-8 hours so we thought starting at 9am might be a good idea so we don't have to bring our lights if The Unexpected shows up
Bring Iodine, Filter, or whatever you need to make creek water drinkable. This will be a totally self supported ride.

+1 on water, the weather is supposed to be 80+ and sunny. Hydrate early, hydrate often!

I would be in but promised the G-friend a 'learning' day at lake Norman/Itusi trail.
Next time. In fact, I think we'll be up in Montreat 2 weekends from this one.

    According to the Garmin 500

Awesome time yesterday. Stumbled into work today planning to get a lot done but instead dreamed about my next trip out there.
