Why does this organization have such a high turn over rate?

My guess is you are baiting with this question or trolling but which ever it is I will bite.

Really high turn over? The president took a job in Charlotte which is a huge blow to PAS. The vice president served for over 2 years and has a ton of work and family commitments. The treasurer was, if I am not mistaken, the original treasurer from the start of PAS. The secretary has been on for at least 3-4 years(if not more).

After donating hundreds of hours of time most people move on to other things in life besides volunteering for years on end to a mostly thankless BOD position regardless of the organization.

    Thanks for noticing though!

The secretary has been a key figure in local mountain bike advocacy for 20-30 years. His is also the main voice for mountain bikes with Friends of Dupont. As always, thanks TrailZen (and other board members).

In my opinion turn over rates are rather low. I would like to see a more frequent rotation of Board members, either moving into different positions or helping out with other areas. While it is great someone is willing to put in several years, it is also good for others to give it a go.

The web page below will provide a better picture of turn over rates.

In most clubs I have been in, if you don't show up for the elections, you are likely to end up as president. If it wasn't an hour + drive, I would think about it.

Honestly I am am surprised there isn't a new person every year considering the amount of work they do and at least 2 of the 4 people (The Pres & VP) have full time jobs & families with young children.

We are very lucky to have had both Chris S and Chris N along with Chuck and Rick for so long as we have had them.

    This.

I have watched Upstate Sorba grow over the years and have seen what not only the president, but the rest of the board puts into it. They work full time jobs, have families, and somehow find time to coordinate days to do more work keeping our trails rideable. I will never question turnover and will always applaud the past board members as well as anyone that steps up in the future.

I would love for someone from the Brevard area take the reigns.
Should you do more trail work?
