    Parkway closure all winter
Just a heads up, the Parkway is slated to be closed from MP399 to MP405, with vehicular traffic re-routed on last year's detour: NC191-NC280-US276. This starts on Monday:

Like this spring, they plan on erecting the BIG barriers that caught some of us unawares after a few months of being able to ride in the area:

“There will be permanent barriers. It will be completely closed to the public,” Molling said. This includes all vehicular, foot and bicycle traffic. “Once the snow starts, we usually don't keep that section of road open anyway.”

Maybe from one side of Pisgah or the other, but not via the Pkwy. These were *big* barriers, stretching tall across the road, making it difficult to get to the other side. :madman:
