No love for The Pisgah BADASS?

    Is anybody doing this thing?

    https://www.pisgahworks.com/BadassRoute.html

Seems like something worthy of doing. Camping, riding, and whatnot....

Is everybody saving all their Pisgah mojo for the Double Dare? Seems like this would be a good ride to whet the appetite.

I'm in (weather dependent). Not gonna get my new bike all wet and stuff.

My ass is not bad enough to do all that in one day. Plus I have a gig that night. Even if I didn't have a gig, I would make one up to avoid having to do this.

In that case it may be more fun to take Avery and not Buckwheat.

I'm in. Black will suck, but out'n back on squirrel via laurel and mullinax is some of Pisgah's finest. And 477 is what all of you crave....long gravel rides. It is a ride for 26's and 29's alike.

OK, on a technicality Bennett isn't required for BadAss status, but you should at least do Avery using Brado's way and still get the drops on the Buckwheat downhill.

Word from above says that the route will end officially at 477.

Drag race from that point on may commence, but the winner is the one who gets to 477 first.

That's a nice route. Squirrel out and back is a good time. I was all psyched back when Denny first emailed the invites.

Now, I'm just trying to shake my badass pneumonia. Have fun everyone!

Well, as long as we aren't poaching Bennett my interest is sparked. I'll have to ride Broussard's beater bike though and I'd like to be home in time for a late lunch so let's hope it starts on time

KevinB53 - you shouldn't let this non-event interfere with any ride plans you have. I doubt there will be too many people doing it and we will spread out fast on the way up Black.

so anyone know where I can find or if there is an actual map that shows all the trails. I've been able to piece together different maps I found, but would be nice to have just one. I got one for both bent crk and dupont, can't imagine there not being one.

$1.95 off, how could I possibly pass that up? I should be there, don't know how much of this badass ride I'll be doing since I've never been there. But if you see a total newb looking sucker in a gray dakota.....that'll be me.

this is a beginner Pisgah friendly ride. you'll be fine.

    Or.

I wouldn't recommend this route to someone who hasn't ridden Pisgah before.

Either way, with this rain - y'all have fun!

Heck with that noise. Bike on the car. Bike off the car. Single speed on the car. More rain. No rain. Dogs in the car. 9:10AM; no one at the Black lot. Head to stables. Leave with dogs up to Black. No bikes at the gap, but pass bikes on cars at White Pines. Who the hell is gonna ride this dumbass route in the rain all day anyway??? Finish Black; tether dogs to tree. 11:15AM Late Bad-assers pass me on 477. Retrieve car. Unclip wet, tired dogs. Turn on defrost. Make most of day and get oil changed. Continue to observe monsoon and shiver in an all too air-conditioned waiting room.

Hats off to you guys who stuck it out. We didn't race, but did get in some good riding. Black Mtn. parking, horse stables up 477, up the stairs, down Avery. Back up 477, R on Black Mtn to the car. Decending in the rain was a blast. My buddy got back to find a nice "F_ck- YOU" on his car written in lipstick. Don't know what that is about. Hopefully mistaken identity. Thanks for the beer invite, we hit up the Mexi joint and bolted.

I had some mechanical probs and turned around shortly after getting on squirrel, which was a bummer...the main reason I went out was to ride squirrel a couple times

I found someones multi-tool on the trail. Describe it and I'll get it back to ya.

Ha, never thought about that. You may be right. Come to think about it, I did see a little chubby hiker babe sniffin our tires as we were taking off that morning. I just hope her lipstick wasn't tested on animals.

When I got down the the parking lot some chick in a maroon blazer was creeping the parking lot hitting on guys. If I had to guess I would say it was her lipstick on that car.

Was this someone ya'll "know" - not necessarily in the Biblical Sense, and you're razzing her? If not, did she have one of those cute window breaking tools as a earring and talking on a cell phone a lot?

Cuties just hanging in parking lots usually equal pieces of glass and less portage in your vehicle.
Now you're cast of steel and cast aside. Broken dreams maybe, but you haven't died

Did not know/talk/wink/armpit fart in her direction or anything. Just kind of a bummer to see that on the car. But anyway, she did not take away from the ride we just had so it's all good.

LOL! The 2011 Pisgah Badass is coming. Yes, we had White Pines campsite with beer, music and warm food, plus some other goodies. We'll be more clear on that this year. Mark Sackett finished first via 477. About 5 minutes later Adam BADASS Penny came in via Bennett. He got the Bracelet. They were both winners. It was a nasty day in Pisgah. We made the best of it. See you's in Sept.
