Caution; Merge; Workers Ahead! Camp Closure

As of June 30th, Eckerd Youth Alternatives' Camp E-Toh-Kalu will be closed as a result of the NC State budget cuts. This decision was passed down last week. Efforts are being made to find placements for the children currently residing at camp and we are in the middle of a very large transition. Fortunately many were able to take end of year standardized exit tests and finish out the school year. If any current employee bumps into you in the community understand this, that they are perhaps one of the hardest workers you will meet. Please assist these individuals with any leads as we were all caught off guard when the rumor became truth. Thank you for your support.

    Hey Chief,

Can you shed any light on what will happen in the long run? Is there a chance that the camp will start up at some time in the future if the budget is allocated? Will the camp itself be sold?

Also, I'm curious how my local NC reps voted on this. Do you have any info on the legislative side? Decisions such as this just reinforce my opinion that our budget priorities are all SCREWED UP
