    Listing items for sale

Items for sale require a classified ad. Posts with an ad link will be locked and posts without a link will be deleted. This includes wanted posts.

If I have to delete your spam posts more than once your account will be banned.

EXCEPTIONS: the MTBR admins have decided to allow the posting of race announcements and race entry number sales without a classified ad. Here's the catch. You can only post it once and no promotional self bumping it back to the top.

Then add a picture of Darth Vader riding a bike, preferably a bike being pedalled by a Storm Trooper.

Well, that just killed my bike ride/yard sale/growler swap/cookout concept. I'm going to Myface!

Just joking. Nip 'em in the bud, SS.

Not my policy. You agreed to it when you setup your account on MTBR. You can post your ad for free on the SORBA forum.

I've always wondered how I get away with it

edit for seriousness: Can I say 'Hey, I've got a race coming up that everyone may be interested in, check out my website for further details.'?

The parent company of MTBR is consumerreview.com. They own many other web sites. They make money from the number of page views, which drives all the ads on the top and side of the screen. The more eyeballs on the site, the more money they make, no matter what post those eyeballs are reading. I hardly see where someone selling a race entry hurts their bottom line too much.

    FS: Best Offer

great for Pisgah or just a cruise around Bent Creek.

Gotta sell it to fund this season's racing, which, by the way, you should check out PMBAR I don't have an entry to sell you though, and if I did, I would not post it here...

When you say race entries, does that include a promoter like me pitching a race and posting a link to registration?

Cruso - you haven't seen them because I've been deleting them.

This was just meant to be a reminder of the forum rules because I'm getting swamped with emails reporting spam posts.

Race promoters - I'll get official clarification on posting about your races. Until then I'll allow it as long as it doesn't result in a string of "bump" replies by the OP.

    Not meaning anything negative....

Just advertise your parties where races breakout.

After all,There is alot of truth in that statement. It is more about the gathering than the race.

I agree with what you are saying Mike but the more rules that they make here, the more time I spend on F88me. BTW, there is NO advertising on F88me and has survived perfectly fine in the black strictly on donations.

Y'all are way too uptight and defensive. I know it's raining but go find a fire road to ride or something.

Here's the new ruling for race related posts. Thank you for your cooperation.

so if you're adding info to the original post that would be considered a "legal bump" ?

So we can get our friends to bump it for us? and that would be a way around the "Self" bump rule
