"Gorges State Park, in collaboration with the Friends of Gorges State Park group, has been selected as one of nine national finalists to receive the Bell Built Grant, a $100,000 technical assistance grant to fund a gravity mountain bike trail."

Hell Yes! I remember that vote a while back and voted for our area. I have no issue earning my downhill but a proper gravity trail with gap jumps, table tops, rock drops etc. is sorely needed in the area.

Even if we don't win that grant, if the land manager is agreeable I willing to be we can find the volunteers to put it in. I would sure be willing to help with planning and sweat.

I also hear that the Appalachian Superintendent might be willing to allow a DH trail in the Coleman Boundary area. Which I would also love to see. If we could get a bike specific trail we could cover an enormous elevation drop lots of natural feature that could be worked in and would reduce conflict between equestrians and hikers.

Very cool. The neighborhood is desperate for this sort of thing.
