Help needed ASAP - Crashed my bike @ Bent Creek Explorer trail

I'm visiting NC from Florida and crashed my bike at Bent Creek today. I don't remember what happened, but my girlfriend found me with my eyes rolled into the back of my head. I have no memory whatsoever and apparently wasn't making sense for about an hour. Went to the hospital where it was determined I had a concussion and a separated AC joint in my left shoulder.

Anyways, my iPhone 6s Plus was mounted to my handlebars and it's nowhere to be found. We spent over an hour searching the area with no luck. I crashed after the last big jump towards the end of the Explorer loop. I was found about 15-20 feet after the jump, and I think I went over the handlebars.

The phone was inside a soft Topeak weatherproof case which may be broken. If anyone finds this phone, PLEASE give me a call on my girlfriend's phone at (561) 315-3891. I'll buy you lunch, throw you $100, whatever. I have a lot of photos and memories on that phone that I don't have backed up and I really don't want to lose them.

Any help is much appreciated. I'm probably going to head back to the trail tomorrow with a rake or two to try to clear the leaves and search some more. I'm supposed to go back to FL tomorrow, FWIW.

Thanks in advance, and thanks so much to the people who helped walk me out of the trail and drive my car to the hospital. (Michelle and to the other fellow - I'm sorry I can't remember your name, I don't even remember much aside from us walking out of the woods).

Doesn't the iPhone have a locating app to pinpoint it?

Sorry to hear of your dilemma. Best of luck finding it and healing up!

Thanks. I appreciate the kind words. I do have "find my iPhone", however I didn't have reception out there and I'm fairly certain it's still in the woods because "find my iPhone" still shows it offline and there hasn't been any activity since yesterday.

Sorryt to hear about your accident...

What part of explorer were you on? There are several explorer options and multiple directions to ride it.

The upper portion, lower, rhodo tunnel? Near the creek?

If its the jump Im thinking of there is a rock garden on the front side and the lip is really poppy. I've known several folks to go OTB on it and get hurt.

If you can provide more detail Im riding out there tomorrow morning and will look around.

    Hope you heal up quickly...

Thank you. It was at that last jump you mentioned, a little rocky going up with a sharp lip. It is the last big jump at the end of explorer loop (we went counter clockwise according to the arrows) before the creek crossing with the small wooden bridge, and before it intersects with pine tree loop again.

I ride with my phone, too: trailforks, strava, etc. I use an old phone that I had lying around just in case of loss or damage. Even if there's no cell service on the phone, as long as the GPS works, you can still record your ride and save it when you get home. Just a thought.

    Speedy recovery mate.

Gotcha... I will check it out and see if I can locate it. Hopefully no one else ran off with it. That jump has ruined many a ride. My buddy went OTB on it a few months ago and got a nice concussion as well.

It happened really fast. Got it all on video and the noises I was making afterwards were downright scary. Good thing my girlfriend found me shortly after.

I'm pretty certain someone scooped up the phone. We looked for an hour on Thursday and rented a metal detector yesterday morning before heading back to FL. Metal detected for about 2 hours over a wide radius and no luck.

You should call Motion Makers and Carolina Fats. Try Billy Goat if they are open. Those are the closest bike shops to BC.

Still not found, I think someone scooped it up. I ended up buying a new phone Saturday. Thanks everyone for the help.

That would be cool! I assume that's in the area it was lost?

Note was on the Ledford Branch trailhead kiosk. Closest trailhead and parking near that area.
