    FATS vs TSALI

Looking for some XC fun on my east coast trip. What system is better for 3hrs or so of XC riding? 40 y/o advanced rider.

    Both are terrible. Ride Pisgah.

In seriousness Tsali is light years better than FATS.

FATS is awesome if you like huge rollers and can send it. Otherwise, Tsali would be more fun for general XC type riding. However, you can get more miles at FATS in one day, nothing is closed, and no horses. Tsali alternates trails and you cannot ride everything in a single day.

FATS is fun for an advanced rider at head down hammer to the pedal pace. Really really fun. Cruizin? Not so much. Tsali is better for that.

I do think if it's not out of your way, riding any of the trail systems from Bent Creek to Brevard will give you more, better riding.

Interesting... I don't care for Tsali at all other than the views, but I really enjoy FATS. There is a better variety, and it feels like there is more descending than climbing. Tsali feels like it is mostly uphill. I would also argue that FATS is better than Bent Creek, which has a couple fun trails and some good gravel riding. DuPont is better than all of the above, while Pisgah is an entirely different type of riding.

Sounds like FATS might be a better system for me. I'll hit it on my way up to the Pisgah/Dupont. thanks all!
