    FATS is closed by USFS

Just a post to anyone thinking of a long haul to FATS this weekend. USFS closed it today, and it will be closed at least thru part of Saturday, based on what he said to me.

Just trying to inform and save someone a long drive.

www.sorbacsra.org homepage has the scoop. If it says closed, hit refresh. It may change to open.

Thanks for the heads-up. Planning to drive down to Charleston from MD in a few weeks, and wanted to hit up FATS. I'll be sure to check on things before I go.

I don't want to be Chicken Little, but it sounds like it is going to reopen early Saturday.

Keep eye on www.sorbacsra.org. Hit refresh if it says closed.

We had a warm, sunny and windy day yesterday. And the leaves gotta at least be sipping the water and pulling it out of the ground. Once that starts, these trails will be fine.

    Hasn't been closed much lately.

Alot of work has been done in the last 5-6 weeks. We got rain several days this week. Keeping it closed for a few days allows the work done to not get not undone and gives the trails a break so they can open on the weekend.

We have 100 miles of other local trails that never close because they will never have the critical mass of riders show up. Closing FATS actually sends locals to these other trails....that desperately need the wheels.
