    FATS Closed?

Hoping to get some late night local knowledge here. I had to come to Augusta today, and was planning on riding Fats tomorrow. I've been wanting to ride Fats for years. I was just looking around online for routes ect and found a link to a twitter post(I'm not on twitter) that said Fats was closed due to rain. It was warm and sunny here today. Anyone know if the Fats will be open tomorrow? Do they closed the trails at Fats for multiple days for rain? If they are closed can anyone recommend where else to ride in the area? I see there are several other trails in the area, but the reviews are kinda 50/50. Thanks for any tips or info!!

Apparantly they are closed, even though it has been pretty dry in the Upstate the past few days. We did get a big rain on Monday, so that may be the reason.

FATS will close if someone sneezes. They were closed for THREE MONTHS after December 9th due to all the wet weather. This is par for the course for FATS.

The Bartram Trail across the border is always open. It's an out and back, and doesn't have the flow of FATS, but worthy of a pedal. It connects to Keg Creek at the end, so you can add that on, and good news there as they just cleared all the downed trees. Ride it all, you'll get about 40 miles.

Thanks for your replies Tim. I wound up riding Bartram Trail, but only about 20 miles. I went to FATS first hoping it would be open, but the gate was locked. I waited for a little while and tried to find out if they were going to open the trails, but wound up giving up and going to Bartram, which was pretty much bone dry except for a few low spots. I'm kinda stumped why FATS was closed today.
