    Emerald Outback Trail?

From Charlotte, heading up to the Boone area for some camping this weekend, and bringing the bike.

I've spent some time up there before and have ridden Rocky Knob 2 or 3 times already, so maybe looking for something different. I came across the Emerald Outback Trail online, but can't find too much in the way of reviews on the trail. I watched a couple of You Tube videos that seem to show the trail as being incredibly flat and slow. Is it a glorified, rooty greenway trail, or is there some good singletrack in those 8 miles of trail?
    Enjoy the ride!

Not sure what videos you watched but it is certainly not greenway trail, nor is it flat. Lots of climbing and even more roots make it some of the nastiest technical singletrack youll ride in the area. Honestly, if you dont like being beat up or dont have a FS you may not even enjoy it.

Roots, Roots, Nice scenery and views, then more roots.
