Decent gravel off 40 near Asheville?

I have to drive from Mount Airy to Franklin tomorrow to get a document signed, then turn around and come back. Figure all single track is flowing like a creek after last weekend so I would love a decent break from the monotony on a gravel path. Anything close to the highway I could ride for an hour? Thanks in advance.

Bent creek from the hard times lot to the BRP is about 30-45 minutes of climbing and half of that getting back down.

Just google bent creek. Its about 3 miles off of I26 about 5 miles south of where 26 and 40 intersect. Near the NC Arboretum.

Another option would be off exit 75 in old fort. Curtis Creek road turns to gravel and goes all the way to the parkway. It would be more scenic and is easier to access from I40 then bent creek.
