    camping near pisgah or dupont

Me and my buds are going to go up in the first week of november for a little escape from florida and get some good rides/ hikes in.

Where would you recommend for a good camping location?

Or if you could recommend some good cabin rentals im open to that

There are plenty of roadside campsites on Avery Creek rd, Wash Creek Rd., Yellow Gap Rd, FR 475b, and quite a few other spots throughout the forest. As far as legit campgrounds go, Davidson River and N. Mills are popular pay-to-camp spots.

Make sure to follow rules and know where you can and cant have alcohol. They've gotten pretty strict on that over the years.

    Maybe this link will help...

Had a bunch of good reports from recently available spots at the bike farm//reeb ranch. It's a bit more then NMR or DRC, but it's right at DuPont, and I know you can have beers there! Don't know how they're going to handle DreamLine campers, if at all.

I was talking to Cashion, apparently camping at the Bike Farm is now open. Don't know how to get a spot and if they are open throughout the entire year.
I also would not count on camping the weekend of the 11th because of the Redbull event.

After Oct 31, you are limited to primitive spots in Pisgah.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

There is also Cascade Lake CG which is just a few miles from Dupont, less than 10 from the entrance to Pisgah. Not sure of their months of operation, whether they are open that time of year.

oops, just noticed on the website they're open through November 1.

Lake Powhatan's site says open March-November. I assume that would be through November. This may be a possibility.

I'm also thinking of heading out to Asheville in November for some riding.
I'm from south Florida. I had found a site that was very detailed about different trails also had some videos but I cant find it now. Ill post it up when I find it.
if anyone has some other recommendations on things to do or see post them up.
would definitely like to check out some music, breweries, etc.

I'm pretty sure Davidson River campground keeps a couple of loops open year round.

Davidson is open year round. They just manage fewer and fewer loops as the season slows down, so its tougher to find a spot.
