I don't quite get the closure to Pressley, Only a few people hike past the Thrift/Black intersection. Any mention where the conflict occured? Lower Black was way too fast for a shared use trail after the work last year.

It occurred below Thrift but they closed it all the way to Pressley to stop riders from coming down from Hickory Knob. Thrift Cove, Grass Rd., and Sycamore Cove are all also now closed to bikes as well (but I only care about Black).

I just called the Ranger Station to confirm and the latest word is that ALL TRAILS in the Davidson River area are CLOSED TO BIKES indefinitely pending an INVESTIGATION

Anyone looking to ride Pisgah this weekend needs to stick to Bent Creek.

Wait a second... This can't be possible. Just last week I sent in my money to purchase Pisgah National forest. You see I got this great deal in an email. I was offered to partner with a Nigerien prince. He was gonna pay most of the price (cause he's loaded with a ton of Nigerian prince money) and I just had to kick in a few thousand and Pisgah would be ours. Now it's closed!!! Don't worry. As soon as I get my receipt and me and my Nigerian prince partner take ownership of pisgah, I'll open it back up. Perhaps I can get my Nigerian prince to make some upgrades like adding some deer cameras for security and moving all the gutter trails to the ridge tops.

Just you wait! I sent the money in last week. Any day now my Nigerian prince will contact me and we will own Pisgah for real! Any day now...

I thought it was weird that they were up prepping the helipad on Looking Glass last weekend.

    Ohhh noez !!!!
I am going to chain my naked body to the front door of the ranger station and blockade the entrance to the trail with a fence made out of rigid ss 29ers until the trail is free to use again. Maybe I will just take up horseback riding

So... is this April Fools or is it for real? It sounds a bit serious for a joke, but who knows around here.

It was a joke. Thanks for playing everyone. The National Guard is not out enforcing nonexistent trail closures and there is no need to call the Ranger Station.

Best April Fools prank to date! My jaw got so tight when I first started reading this thread. Had no idea it was even April 1st until later. Thanks for the laugh!
