    Black Mountain North Carolina Riding

Gonna be in Black Mountain next week visiting wife's family. Would like to find a ride in the 20-25 mile range. Rode Kitzuma before and loved it. Parked at top, rode down and came up old 70. Is there any longer single track in or near town.

Climb Curtis Creek road, the parkway, descend Heartbreak Ridge, and take hwy 70 back to Curtis Creek and you should have around 25 miles in. Not all single track, but the closest thing to Black Mountain I know of.

why would anyone, let alone anyone in black mountain, climb curtis creek when OTR is open?

rainbow road out of montreat to old toll road to heartbreak to mill creek is an exponentially better ride.

Ah yeah you got my vote on this one, and as a matter of fact I have never ridden curtis creek. I have always ridden out of Montreat up the toll road although it took a few times to learn the connector to Heartbreak.I just don't know of a good map to show this route.
