Big, nasty hornet nest on Kitsuma!

There's a good sized white faced hornet paper nest right at eye level just before the second to last switchback on Kitsuma. I discovered this while removing some low laurel branches with my handsaw (sudden sharp barb in my hand while sawing turned out to be a hornet). I ended up leaving the handsaw in my effort to flee, as they were waaaaay too pissed to permit retrieval. Soooo, be aware that there are both angry hornets and a rusty handsaw in the laurel branches just before.the second to last switchback.

I'll return next week to take out the nest and get my poor, lonely saw...

I think that bees from Florida have a summer home on Kitsuma. They suck.
"Yo Florida bees, go back to Florida!"
Is the swichback on the way up or on the way down Kitsuma?

    on the way down...

Yeah, the hornets are probably from Florida, as I noticed they were driving erratically downtown earlier that afternoon...

As for the switchback, It's the second to last from the bottom while descending.
