    Big Frog 65......

Anybody racing Big Frog this Saturday? I'll be there......I figure it's a great shakedown "ride" for PMBAR the following weekend........that's where the real riding begins.

I'll be there. I figure it is a good chance to get a little racing in before the real fun starts at pmbar next weekend

We will be there tandem ready

It seems there will be three tandem teams this year at Cohutta with 81 degrees and 0% chance of rain...yippeee!!
I may be in the woods running around using my Inov-8 X-Talon 190`s at Pmbar...all bandit and unofficial just doing it on foot and i`ll be sure to give you a pat on the back as i come by you going up Black Mountain in the rain....prft:

I will be there competing for last place and hoping I can finish. My buddy AJ will be doing the 100. To quote many on this forum - "is it too late to start training for this?"

There is still plenty of time to train for this. The race is still a full four days away, you don't have a lot of time to train, but you do still have time

I'd have to recommend you contact Broussard and sign up for BTS. Zach is a very accomplished racer* and his system will guarantee you meet your goals at this race!

    * I hear he got second at the Double Dare because he dressed up as a juggler!

Big Frog put a big hurt on me...........especially my ego. I've never been passed by sooooo many people......thats what I get for starting so close to the front ......seemed like every racer passed me in the first 3 miles up the paved road.......my result: 8.5 hours. Add 3 more hours and you have PMBAR......... Yaah, more fun!

woot woot! I'm glad that one is over and can put it on my list of things not to ever do again!

Gabe - very nice meeting you and great job on the finish! I didn't pass you at the start as I was the first guy out but lost 15 spots a half mile later (see comment below about BTS). Cut that pack weight by 75% before next weekend and you will drop hours from your time

Thad - VERY impressive finish! I would have abandoned the bike three miles up the trail and strapped on the innov8's. Way to represent for Thorncrest Ct.! (we likely have one less cat on the block now thanks to my dog. yard is fenced, not my fault.)

Mike - how'd it go? Did I meet you? (I was the slightly drunk guy at the finish)

Oh, and anyone thinking about paying the $1756 for BTS all I can say is don't. It doesn't work. Fourth place

I had to do a no-show due to my wife's mom. She had a bad fall Friday morning and ended up passing away this morning due to head injuries. Very sweet lady. She will be missed.

Mike, so sorry to hear of your loss.

The huge pack that I carried for Big Frog was one of the dumbest things I have done on a bike.......the "logic" was to use this event as a "shake-down" for PMBAR.......good thing too. I now know that I don't have to carry the spare chain, commercial Park chain tool, entire bag of "sports drink" powder, two multi-tools, spare frame, AND a full set of allen keys.......blah, blah, blah. Is it too late to start training?

You could carry your whole welding rig in case your frame cracks out there somewhere.
