Best Video Showcasing Pisgah area Riding?

So my favorite place to ride has gotten some national recognition as of late but there still isn't an abundance of high quality riding videos showcasing PNF (at least to my knowledge).

I was wondering what videos everyone has seen that do a good job of showing what Pisgah area riding (hell let's just say Western NC riding) is all about. Highly skilled riders and good cinematography are big pluses!

All this would hopefully help convince some friends of mine to come here for a visit!

I'll get us started, seems to be a lot of dupont thrown into this one at not a lot of technical stuff but a great vid none the less.

Videos never do justice to what the trails are really like.
So if all the reviews and the fact that this area is probably the number one place on the eastern side of the country to go mountain biking doesn't convince them than a few videos isn't going to do it either.

I see you are in Jacksonville. Is that Florida or NC?
Either way, it is a coastal flat land and maybe your friends don't want to come here because they feel they can't handle the climbs and won't have any fun. Or maybe they just don't like the idea of flying down fast technical trails that scare the sh!t out of them. This area isn't for everyone.

I have been putting some on our PAS site over the past few years. Been slacking and have not put any there in a while. Feel free to add some that are good if I missed any.

For the record: A fair bit of this Church video showcases DuPont, this was not filmed entirely on Pisgah trails.

I've been in NC now for about 6yrs splitting time between Winston-Salem and Asheville. I ride Pisgah around a dozen times a year as my schedule/weather allows. Friends know about the area but it's hard to get them to travel to meet me. Mostly made the thread b/c I like watching high quality MTB videos especially if they feature East Coast/ Southeast riding.

Great responses here! I'm wasting too much time watching these today, getting me excited to visit PNF this weekend.

    Sentimental Fool here

This guy has a place in my heart for capturing some nice perspectives - especially the "old days" when people taped video cameras to their helmets. (Edited for an old photo - that HAT!)

Blue Ridge Adventures has a bunch of videos from their races. 5-7 minutes long mostly but some of them really show the area Blue Ridge Adventures - Bicycle Racing thru Western North Carolina You have to go to each race seperately, but they have videos of all of them. Not sure if that's what you're looking for or not.

Find out the reason they won't travel. It may have nothing to do them not thinking it is worth it. Might be time, money, or it may just be they a skeered. I have seen several low country people come here and just not have fun because they can't handle the climbs and they are too scared to ride the down hills. Or maybe they just don't like you. j/k

^^THIS! After a 10 year hiatus from mountain biking I got back into it this year. When I was into it back then I lived in south Texas; read, very, very short climbs. Now that I'm back home in the mountains I got back into it this year, and it was a rude awakening to say the least. I struggled, badly, and still do at times even after riding my ass off all spring and summer long.

Riding here involves a lot of suffering, and for some it's too much, or they just want to ride for fun and not to suffer. I have friends who live here in the mountains that won't go ride certain things with me. Nothing wrong with that though, to each their own.

The single speed will get you past all that.

Funny thing is, I have been riding the SS so much lately that hopping on a geared bike seems harder.

Agreed. The LBS got me on a road bike and that helped immensely in the beginning, and still does to keep base fitness up. But the SS has made me a much stronger rider overall, even on the road bike, and has quickly become my favorite bike also. When I get on the geared bike, I feel like I shift and get lazy rather than attack, and I feel like that alone makes it worse as the suffering that's there lasts longer since I go up / through it slower if that makes sense.

Now ride your geared bike as if it's a singlespeed. Stand up. Put forth your maximum effort. Only shift when your heart is going to explode or more gears will make you go more faster. 1x setups are perfect for this.
This makes the geared bike faster.

Because riding bikes is way cooler than watching videos of people riding bikes.

We got a ride set up for early December! Finally convinced them it's worth a little extra drive time over FATS. Good trail system but not really in the same league. They told me they've been riding pretty hard (CX racing) so hopefully their fitness (and mine) will be good enough to have fun out there.

I will be heading out there again this weekend to try and scout out a good manageable route for them. Gon be fun.
