    Beech Mountain riding

    Hey guys,

I started a thread about coming to Boone and riding at Sugar. Everyone said Rocky Knob and Darkmountain. Excellent suggestions! I rode them yesterday and today. Now I've got my eyes set on some large climbs and/or scenic trails. I'd like to be within an hour drive of Boone. Hows Beech Mountain sound? The website Emerald Mountain Properties and Vacation Rentals at Land of Oz shows a really cool pic of people riding. Thing is I've searched strava and this forum and haven't found any reviews or loops at Beech that seem very appealing. Sooooo, has anyone actually ridden out there? Would it be worth the hour drive? I'll be riding with my brother who's in good enough shape to make all the uphills, but not quite as shred-gnar-cha-brah-gravity fueled as myself, meaning I'd rather not take him down Heartbreak Ridge.

Beech xc trails are a lot of fun. Most of it is tight singletrack and rooty. The super d that drops into west bowl is a lot of fun also. There are some awkward turns and rooty sections but I like that kind of riding. Don't expect machine built berms like warrior, most of it was just corridor cut and ridden in.
