Anybody want to show me around this weekend?

I'm looking into riding at Dupont this weekend and I've never been there before.

Preferably Sunday, maybe Saturday if need be.

I'm from Spartanburg and typically do all my off-road riding in Croft or Paris Mountain.

I've ridden Bent Creek once, but other than that, haven't been into WNC yet.

I'm 11 weeks post op from ACL reconstruction so it won't be a blistering pace. I've ridden twice since surgery and feel fine, just have to take it easy on the technical stuff and extreme climbs....which is why I'm thinking Dupont would be good (from what I'm hearing).

I'll be on a steel hardtail 29er, I don't care what size wheels you have, I'm generally pleasant to be around when I get to ride, and I won't annoy the hell out of you.

    Let me know!

Aaron - we have a crew from Spartanburg that goes to Dupont almost every Saturday. Except I have a gig this Saturday and can't make it. PM me and I will be glad to show you around sometime. Or just get a map and go. You can't get too lost at Dupont. All trails eventually lead to roads. If you are pleasant to be around, you might not fit with our group. We are generally an ornery bunch that thrives on giving each other massive amounts of Zhit about anything we can think of.

    You already are.

    j/k

I can't help you this weekend but if you go alone, stay more over on the Lake Imaging side. Lots of fun stuff over there but nothing super technical.
Just stick it in granny and start grinding.

Mike lies, or at least jokes. The one or two times I've ridden with him, his pleasant attitude was an example for others. He'd make a great guide.

    Thanks for the tip.

Mike, I'll PM you and maybe I can hook up with you guys sometime in the coming weeks before I go in for my second surgery.

Looks like it will be Saturday now for sure if anybody wants to join.

Mike - don't ruin my reputation - I have worked hard to become known as a curmudgeon. If anyone were to think I was a nice guy, I would be done for.

Aaron - what part of Sparkleburg do you live in? We don't allow West siders on our rides

Well our curmudgeon in chief is from Chesnee originally, so you should fit right in. But he is from the real Chesnee, not that sissy area around Lake Blalock where they have electricity and stuff like that.

haha..... I'm originally from Amish country in the midwest so I find that comment to be entertaining on a number of levels.
