Alexander Mtn Bike Park + Mars Hill = Awesome

Huge thanks to Mars Hill Cycling and Hugh Moran for all of the work that has been put into Alexander Mtn Bike Park. I was out there this afternoon previewing the trails with a student and the trails are in great shape and a blast to ride. For those of you who don't know they are hosting a collegiate race out there this weekend complete with 4X, downhill, short track and cross country.

I used to ride out there all of the time when I lived on that side of town and was blown away at the work that they have all done. If you've not made a trip out there ever or lately now is the time. Better yet, go out and support the local college racers and spectate on Saturday or Sunday!

check out - SECCC for more info.

I look forward to trying out these trails in the future. Wish I would have know about the dates of the races sooner so I could have participated. I added there flyer info to the Pisgah Area Sorba Web site.

I think the race is only open to collegiate racers, however, I would contact Hugh to be sure. SJanes, are saying that there is a race open to the public at Alexander after the collegiate race?
