In what year(s) was the Norco VPS-One made?.

So far I have only found 1999. I have a free VPS-One bike to fix, so I need to know the exact year it was made so I can order the right parts:

This is a picture of the bike but it was painted green so I don't know what the original color was, but after looking here it seems it could of been light green, yellow, or red.

    Did you find out?
In a VPS 1 the 1999 was bright green, similar to Kawasaki green. I had a 2000 model and it was mostly red with a white maple leaf off of the head tube. The 2001 was a team DH. It was red magnesium panels glued to the side.
I believe the 1998 was a vps1 also, it was black with a orange rear.
If you still have problems post a side shot.

I am not sure what the original color of this bike was, but mine is a 6 speed as you see the gears below, and the front cog has only 1 gear on it.

I cannot find any VPS's over google that are a 6 speed. I just need to know what derailler I should order, I don't want to waste any money on the wrong part.

Do you know what I really need on this bike?. Thanks. Thanks for replying.

I found a code on the old derailler, which says RD-M510. Getting closer to finding a replacement... I feel like an old man learning to use a computer.

My 2000 was a 8 speed already. I don't think you have the original RD on there.
Stop by Wal=Mart and see if there are any 6 speed bikes there and order a RD to match.

Alright, I will cross my fingers in hopes that the 6 speed fits. Are 6 speed derraillers interchangeable with mountain bikes and road bikes?. Just curious.
