Any review on the Norco VFR4 VFR5 or VFR6?

    I have a VFR-4.

It's quite uncomfortable. All aluminum - including fork, makes for a harsh ride. Chainstays are way too short - makes attaching fenders difficult. Paint chips easily.

It's OK for what I paid ($240 on craigslist, sans wheels), but I much prefer my Jamis Coda or IRO Rob Roy. Way more comfortable.

I've never owned an aluminum bike other than the VFR-4, but if they're all like that then I'm sticking with steel.

Basically, I don't see the point of the VFR-4. It's a lousy commuter bike (fenders, racks difficult to mount). It's lousy for long distances (flat bars, harsh ride), and it's not very good for going fast either (flat bars).

It's light for a hybrid though. Frame is also drilled for disc brakes. I'd be tempted to turn it into a cyclocross/offroad bike, but I don't think I'd have any teeth left.
