Norco Range 2014 Rear Axle O-Ring torn

    Hi,

The rear axle of my 2014 Norco Range has an O-Ring on the left side ( where the Allen key goes in).
The last time I had the rear wheel tyre replaced this O-Ring was torn so I screwed the axle back in with no ring.

Now I don't know what the purpose of this ring, but on the next ride the Axle got loose and almost out its place.

Does anybody knows what's the size of this O-Ring and what does it do ?

    Thanks,
    SK.

I do not know the size of the O-ring or what it does, but I did have the same O-ring almost break on me when I was taking the axle apart to clean it. I went to Home Depot, bought a couple packs of assorted size O-rings from the plumbing department and went through them till I found a good match. That was last summer and since then the new O-ring has been working great.

The same happened with mine. Torn, used axle without it, axle came loose. It did take quite a few rides though.

I'm guessing the O-ring helps keep the axle from unscrewing itself.
