    2016 Speculations, guesses, wishlists?

With Dealer camp near - i believe - thought we should have a new thread for discussions, musings, rambling and tasteful opinions

    I'll start:

The only thing on my wish list is more traffic at this Norco site. Perhaps all Norco owners are hard core riders who have no time for e-shenanigans. Whatever the reason, I have not seen a more dead sub-forum anywhere.

now your talking - maybe we are riding to much and having too much fun!!

i don't believe it's the "deadest" forum - but not a lot of action either.

lets keep this thread going :

B+ Sight (or lesser travel - maybe 120mm range?) New rear triangle to allow 2.8-3" rear tire... seems would be an easy option to bolt up IMO (now - I'm no engineer) and follow the bigger tire trend.

A redesigned Range that is even slacker out front, and optimized for 170 travel to conquer the EWS and BME series... it seems to be "off the radar" in enduro racing for 2015 - altho maybe thats just fine as the Range is a very nice, all around serious AM bike as it sits.

Full sus full on fattie... just becuz? Altho there is likely to much overlap to the B+ trend...

just some random thoughts towards what we may see...

BTW - Regarding other early releases - intrigues? disappoints? Cool factors?

I'll start - I gotta believe when Kona does full on release, we should see carbon Processes - but for now - nothing jumping out except for the Alu and TI Honzo IMO... that is one cool hardtail. Precept 150 is a sweet price point...

    - BMC new trail rig - LBS owner rode it (also carries Norcos obviously) and says its similar to the fun and capable factor of the Sight/Range - kinda blurs the line

    - Canyon to the USA next year? would be very intriguing for that shapeshifter Strive!

    - Curious what Intense may still throw at us as well as SC...

    carry on

Yeah I don't even ride a Norco "been looking at a Sight for about a year" but this forum seems real slow. Not sure what really is next. Kona releases look intriguing. I have the 2014 Precept DL and I bet the Precept 150 is going to be a great deal but it appears to come with the Sektor which I wouldn't want at 150mm. An upgrade to an X fusion Sweep would make that bike much better.

I'm waiting on the mid range Sights and Ranges to see how they are specced. 1x11 xt or sram gx and it may be upgrade time. Would be great if they had a pike upgrade option on the Sight C3 but not holding my breath on that. Would even take the Sweep over the 32mm forks offered.

Bring back the Shinobi with a 27.5+ option! (But since they probably won't do that, I guess I will need to do it by myself).

I want a high end carbon version of the Fluid, in 27.5".
For those days when I want something that's more nimble & snappy than my Range.

According to my sources, the Revolver will soon be a 100mm XC FS race bike, I'm told it can be ridden in a surprisingly aggressive manner. Fast & light, and easily usable as an everyday trail bike, surprisingly similar to the Rocky Mountain Thunderbolt, but faster. The 120mm carbon FS trail bike is unfortunately delayed until middle of next year, possibly later. Will have to ply them with more beer to see what else I can find out.

not sure about the americans but from what the LBS here seem to say that the price is going up. some say as much as 10% from this year. Needless to say, i just ordered my 2015 sight which i hope to have in a few weeks.

From what Norco seem to do is trickle down tech from year before. sight took the revelation from the 14 carbon to the 15 alloy, and assume will take the pike from the 15 carbon into the 16 alloy?

I've seen some spy photos of the sight 7.2. It was a red color like the new Revolver. Same DB inline but a 150mm pike. I also seen a pic of a 7.2 Range. It was two tone black and teal with a DB air and a 160mm Pike. I was surprised the range had a 160mm pike, while another range I seen appeared to have a 170mm X fusion. Seems maybe different models will have different forks?

Well it's good to know if they're putting 150mm forks on the sights that we could probably do it on our current models? They said it pushes the head angle out so you would assume not much in the way of frame has changed

That first article says the Sight gets a new carbon layup, which might mean a stronger headtube junction. I would suggest checking with Norco's warranty department if you're worried about voiding your warranty.

new Sight and Range build kits and color ways look pretty nice - as reported on Flow in australia

i am curious - is it simply the extra 10mm fork length that creates a 67deg head angle or did they actually alter the frame geo to hit that number or is the combo of a tweak in head + 150mm = 67? I'm not the engineer... but as someone who's been flogging a carbon sight w a 150mm pike from ride 1 - its a sensible move IMO..

i find it interesting that there was no mention of 27.5+ or the rumored 29 120mm fun/play bike?
