2016 sight vs 2015 sight frame differences?

    Hi,

I'm thinking buying a sight but not sure which one I should buy.

For me, the fork length is the only difference I can see.

2016 - sight has the 150mm forks, while 2015 has the 140mm forks.

Could anyone tell me any other differences??

    Thanks,

Supposedly Norco switched their carbon fiber supplier, so the 2016 models supposedly have a different grade of CF... Also, all the new Sight frames have the FD mount, whereas only the lower spec'd frames had 'em on the previous years.

Thanks a lot for the answer. I was thinking about the AL version Sigh AL 7.1.

I already have pike 150mm and the most of the parts. So, I am happy to buy 2015 sight AL if the geometry of the frames are same as 2016.

I could see the a bit of differences between 2015 and 2016..
But, the differences look like only the result of the fork length difference..

    Thanks,
    Ian

Interested in this myself - I have the 2015 7.1A but when I come to upgrading the front forks to the Pike - could I use the 150mm without stuffing up the geo?

I've been riding a 2014 Carbon Sight. Before it ever saw dirt in Mar 2014 the rev was swapped for a 150 pike. 2 awesome and hard riding seasons and no problems at all - late last fall - I purchased the MRP stage set to 160mm... but the axle to crown height is same as pike - so 10mm extra travel at same geo as 150mm... I personally like the stage better than the pike - all personal preference. don't worry about a 150 on your bike - its the way they should have been spec'd from the start

Agreed. 150mm on your bike is no problem.

The 2016 frame is different to the 2015 from the inside. My own ride is a custom 2015 Sight 7.2c, and Norco is a brand we work with a lot in OZ. Keep in mind that the headset bearings sit inside the frame without a shell of any sort.

That's why you'd buy a 2016 frame if you plan to use a 150mm fork. Norco could refuse to process a warranty for that reason. They look the same from the outside but they are not from the inside.

Many have not issues with their 2014. But at least you have been warned . Enjoy your Sight, that's a hell of a bike.
