    XX1 - Max Ring Sizes

    Air 9 RDO - 32T
    Air 9 CYA/Carbon - 32T
    Air 9/One 9/EMD 9 - 34T
    Jet 9 alloy V2 (current) - 38T
    Jet 9 RDO/Carbon - 38T
    SIR 9 (W/BioCentric forward) - 36T
    RIP 9 RDO - 36T
    WFO 9 AL V2 (current) - 36T
    RIP 9 AL V2 (current) - 38T

This is a max ring size list for XX1 cranksets. Q-Factor does not matter, either model will work. Will pretty all this up and have it posted on the web specs and in the Niner Encyclopedia next week.

    @ Niner,

Decided to go back to a hardtail and am using my parts off of my Jet 9 RDO on a Air 9 RDO. My XTR M980 cranks with a 34t for a 1x10 rub ever so slightly on the chain stay guard on the A9RDO. I can shim it and make it work but not crazy about the idea as it leaves less room for the NDS crank arm to clamp on the axle.

My question is will a 34t or 36t single ring work with a Raceface Next or Next SL 104BCD crank on the Air 9 RDO? I want to use this crank to drop some weight, just don't want to shell out the cash only to find it's not giong to work. I know you use the 120 BCD Raceface Next crank on your builds, but the 120 BCD and 104 BCD have different chain lines.

    Thanks in advance,

Seems to be the norm on many brands race carbon HTs. I know SRAM is working on spiders to help us get bigger rings on. Just going to take time.

I'm curious about the fit with a Raceface Next or Next SL crank with a 104 BCD however, not a XX1 crank

[email protected] Just picked up an air9 RDO. Was planning to pick up an XX1 crankset with a 34t, but sounds like I may be forced to a 32t.

Does anyone know of good BB30/PF30 1x crank options to fit larger than 32t chainrings on an Air9 RDO?

I have been able to run a 36T on an xx1 crank on the air9 rdo without any clearance issues. Unfortunately for me I am in need of a 38T, but it appears it may not be possible without rubbing or having to really disproportionately space out the cranks. I may look at a set of Next SL to get that 38T.
