    RIP 9 1.1 question

    Hey everyone,

Just grabbed an '08 RIP Version 1.1 (I believe) for my son.

It has a straight 1-1/8" head tube with a Manitou Minute currently installed.
The fork feels OK but am thinking it's pretty long in the tooth.

"Upgrade!!" was my thought, but the chances of finding a straight steerer tube fork these days are pretty slim.

Been reading that if a frame's internal head tube dimension is 44mm then a new lower headset cup/bearing can be installed so that a tapered fork can be used.

So the question is: anyone know if this frame has the 44mm diameter?
The Niner Archive only says "1-1/8" headset", so I couldn't find the info there

    Thanks,
    Mike

Just did a little more digging and it seems like 44mm internal head tubes are of the integrated variety.

    Thinking I might be hooped?

    Yeah 44mm headtubes are 1 1/8 integrated or 1 1/2 external.
