    New sir 9

Man I can't lie, I really dislike the look of the new SIR 9. They've tried to turn it into a bikepacking bike. Why??

I love everything about it except for the blue and orange paint scheme. If they go with acceptable colors in 2018, I may buy one. Looks like a great bike for trail riding or bikepacking. Two good things to do on a steel hardtail.

I like it, but I bought a frame and built it up. The braze ons donít bother me at all.

All this hate on braze-ons is ridiculous. If you're so obsessed with having "ugly" braze-ons that you think you won't utilize, just put m5 set screws in them so it sits flush with the frame. There's nothing "bikepacking" about this bike outside the braze-on arrangement. There's plenty of hardtails with this near exact geo. So what if the sweet Reynolds has some braze-ons. If they ditched the braze-ons would you think it's NOT a bikepacking bike now? Hard to complain about additional functionality.

Hey guys, I'm actually looking at Sir 9 because it seems like an awesome bikepacking bike, among other uses.

Its been years since I've ridden a steel frame, Niner says the Reynolds steel is comparable in weight to high quality titanium. But what exactly does the new Sir 9 frame weigh? I can't seem to find the number anywhere on the internets.

    Hanx!
