Not much in it, both have solid but basic components. If it was me I would go for #1.

15mm through axle fork, the Manitou is a good fork but if its 9mm QR that is a deficiency.
Avid brakes, Mavic wheels, Maxxis tyres.
Niner bars, stem and seat post

The only thing I would miss from #2 is the Raceface crankset.

I bought #2 because of the fork and Hayes brakes. I Love the Niner bar, stem and seatpost of #1 but I changed everything except the frame, fork and headset on mine so it really didn't matter. If I were you I would go with #1 for all of the Niner branded stuff if you're not going to do any upgrades soon. I am Loving mine.

When I got mine it weighed 31lbs. 3oz. and I got it down to 21lbs. 11oz. for the low, low price of A LOT!

You will be happy with either bike. I actually found mine looking for a bike for a friends wife. He asked me to find a geared 29er full suspension bike for around $2000. I told him that I would try but it seemed unlikely. Well when I found this one I ordered mine even before he got back to me about his wife's. Mine came in 2 days before hers. Enjoy it!
