Glass beading/ Sand blasting Sir frame?

    I miss my Sir.

I Like my Ros and my Rip but the Sir was surgical on the trails, it flew up hills and was a riot heading down. But, I had to let it go before I was able to start my new job last year.

Mine was DONE. Reba fork, XTR brakes, Sram XO cranks, King cog, Wolf tooth ring, Stans arch wheels and I even had a matching rigid niner fork when I wanted my elbows to hurt for three days.

Now I'm looking to possibly find another Sir. Mine was the tennis ball yellow and I did like it, it was hard to find anything other than black to go with the yellow.

My wife has a white Sir with a white RS Sid and it looks so good but that's her bike and unless it needs work I can't touch it.

I only know of the two colors for the previous generation sir as white and yellow. I can find a few of them here and there but most are pretty rough with quite a few paint chips and scrapes.

After much ranting my question is: Can I sand blast or glass bead a Sir frame without doing damage? I'd love to do one with the old Schwinn bass boat metal flake blue or green.

steel is real, just don't blast the threads or bearing surfaces.

Glass bead will do no damage. Sand blasting can possibly do damage if the person doing it isn't careful. Like Buell said, don't do threads.
