    New to albuquerque

Do any shops run group rides? Any local group or associations.

Back from my former home in Connecticut we had nemba - New England mountain bike association. Anything like that here?

    Thanks for any input.

We're a long way from being NEMBA but we're just getting going. Check out our Meetup site for weekly rides. Non-members welcome.

Second on Fat Tire on Montano. I am not sure the day/time though. But I see them out sometimes. You also might call over to Bike Works. Those guys sometimes organize community rides as well.

Well, truth be told it is not me that moved to NM, but a good buddy of mine that retired. I posted on his behalf because he is not registered on MTBR yet - once he gets that worked out he might chime in here. He and his wife moved to NM to be with their daughters. He has been poking around, riding a few of the local places, seeing cars at the trailhead but not much in the way of groups yet. A couple of shops he's stopped into have seemed more roadie. Although very different than our leafy/rocky/twisty trails here in NE he reports that there is some good stuff out that way.

Here in CT, we have a hard-core group of 60y/o+ folks that ride a few times a week. They are older, but still fast and smooth. My buddy was the young guy in that group as he just retired. Hopefully you guys have a group like that down that way - or perhaps he can find the other retired fast fellas and get one going.

We do know Jon Peterson quite well, and enjoy his handiwork at Rockland and Millers Pond fairly often. It is a pretty tight mtb community here.

Thanks for all your info folks! You see a fellow on a green Belltown say hi and show him the hard line.

I actually work weekends at Fat Tire, we usually do a Sunday morning ride. Location depends on the weather and trail conditions. Typically meet at the shop @8am or at the trail @9am.

Follow us on Facebook for rides and updates.
