Okay, so no takers, too short notice ...

How about planning a ride for next weekend, August 18-19.

TRT, Toads, Donner Pass, Tahoe Donner, Ash-Kings, Clear Creek?

Anyone have time ride midweek after work?

Kings, Ash, Clear Creek, TRT Spooner?

Also, if anyone is interested, I'm working on a route down the ravine below the cinder pit off Goni. It's pretty rugged, but doable. I ride up Goni to the roadside pit at the hard right turn, then point it downhill on the "horse tracks".

Ben... My buddies and I are starting Tuesday/Thursday Night Two Wheel Therapy sessions. Plan is to be at the Ash Canyon Trailhead by about 6:30 and ride. Levels of effort just depend on group and smoke at this point.

I am headed out tonight if you wanna ride. I will shoot you a text. Probably short and slow for me seeing as I haven't ridden much lately and body is sore from exhaust work on the Land Cruiser (up and down off the ground constantly for two days).

Yup meet at the Forest Hill Trailhead (main trailhead) off of Winnie. Probably start around 6:30pm just so everyone has time to get there from work/home/etc. I normally ride up on my bike but my buddies should be there in their vehicles unless they're riding from my house with me.

My wife and I have been looking for good group ride, unfortunately we are tied up the next couple of weekends but would love to connect. We are not in greatest cardio shape now but enjoy good technical riding.

Sounds good. Is the Connector finished? We've climbed from the bottom and also shuttled from Spooner Summit

The connector is done, just rode it tonight with Greg.

Been up it a few times, also rode it from Spooner to Jacks.

Very nice trail, destined to be a classic.

Note that it is starting to get very janky and loose. Especially the switchbacks and the section getting close to the lower portion where the edge of the trail is on the side of the mountain. This trail NEEDS a serious season of precipitation, snow, etc. to get nicely packed down. Ride it some now but be very aware of staying in the middle of the trail and take the corners/switchbacks slow as to not blow them out more.

Case in point, there are a couple switchbacks in the lower section that are so destroyed that your front tire take an outside line but there is a rut burned into the inside that your rear has no other place than to go. Pretty much every switchback is a dab corner at slow speeds. This includes climbing or descending.

Anything still going on regularly? I'm moving to the west side of Carson City the first week of August. I've been spending enough time looking at maps/Strava/Google Earth to have things figured out but would love to get a better introduction.

Let me know when you are moved in. I live on the west side (off 5th by C Hill) so you are welcome to ride with me anytime. Would be happy to show you trails, names, etc. Ben lives on the North side near the end of Goni Rd. before you hit dirt going up to Cinderlites quarry.
