    Stuck pivot bolt fantom ds

Anyone know what direction the suspenion pivot bolt turns on these things? Not where the shock mounts but where the actual pivot is. It takes a big allen key on both sides of that thing and it does spin but seems to tighten in both directions. I'm tracing down a pretty bad creaking my bike has developed.

I don't recall anything unusual about that bolt when I removed it: standard counterclockwise to loosen. The creak on mine ended up being the derailleur hanger of all things. Remove and grease it and see if your creak goes away.

I had a pretty bad creak and I traced it down to the rear triangle pivot. The bolt unscrews counter clockwise like most bolts. It is rather tight, but it will come lose. Once I got it apart I noticed that one of the bearings had very little grease in it and the other one had no grease at all. Yikes! I repacked each bearing with plenty of high quality grease, reassembled the rear pivot (don't forget to put some loctite on the treads of the pivot bolts,) and the annoying creak was long gone! Hope you got your problem all worked out as well my friend! ~OCD Mountain Biking

I have a channel that has a lot of info on the Motobecane Fantom DS Comp 29er if you'd like to check it out! Kirk
