Received my Fly Ti Frame today

Got my Fly Ti today. I am excited about getting it built up. It appears that it weighs 3.6 pounds, at least by using the bathroom scale method. Here are some pictures of the frame and welds. The last picture is of the inside of the head tube, it has some discoloration, not sure if this is normal.

What size is it? Looks like a medium, mine is a medium too and I think it weighs around 3.2 pounds.

Good luck with the build and don't forget to post more pictures.

It looks like the discoloring was caused by the heat during welding. That's no problem in my eyes. The exterior of the tubing was finished after welding. That would show @ every weld if they didn't. Looks awesome. I'm envious. Got my aluminum fly that I love but that is a beauty.

Thanks. I am loving the look. I just need to get some help to install the headset and fork. The size should be a large, I ordered the 20in.

Started the build process today. Here are some photos. Hopefully I can get it finished tomorrow. All I have left are the cables, chain, and to get everything dialed in. Also, will polish the frame to get rid of the fingerprints.

Is there a champagne-colored tint to your frame in person, or is it just a color accuracy issue?

    Ride report and more pictures

Well, I absolutely love this frame. I have not felt any excessive flexing with the frame, but it definitely smooths the ride, as opposed to my old aluminum frame. It feels like if climbs better. I do not feel any negatives on the descents. The geometry seems to fit me well, I may have to adjust the stem, bars and seat over time to dial it in just perfect. And, I just love the look of the bike.

@theBody: I believe the frame has a bit of a champagne tint to it, but it depends on the light that hits it.

The weight so far is 25.8 pounds according to my bathroom scales.

    The specs so far:

    Wheels: BWW Pure XM
    Stem: Pro Lt
Fork: Rock Rock Shox Sid Race
    Handlebars: Easton EA50
    Shifters: Shimano SLX
    Headset: FSA Orbit XLII
    Cranks: Shimano LX M582
    Pedals: Shimano M520
    Front Derailleur: Shimano XT M771
Rear Derailleur: Shimano XT M772 Long Cage
    Chain: Shimano 7701
    Brakes: Shimano M575
Tires: Conti Mountain King (Front) Race King (Rear)

Here are some pictures from my first two rides out with the new Fly Ti

I was wondering if you can measure the rear drop out spacing on your frame with the wheel off.

That is one super nice build; of course, I am unabashedly biased since I too just got the same frame. I'm still collecting those small parts that I want in "sour apple green", like CK headesets, skewers, etc. Unsure what wheels I want, but I do have CK green hubs. Again, excellent job.

I have the exact same frame coming as a 'warranty upgrade' (hopefully tomorrow), my aluminum 26'er broke in half at the top tube weld. Hopefully the Ti holds up better

Nice looking bike brosif! I'm happy to read you like it!

Got a wee bit more work to do on my ride, but I've had 4 great rides on it now....currently, I'm running it SS, but I'm about to convert to geared (I've got a few big climbs in my area to contend with)..........lovin' it, though.....

p.s. notice that homemade lizard skin for the chain stay..........
