    Rear shock fell apart

I bought a 700ds knowing the rear KS shock was suspect and i planned on replacing it. I was riding yesterday and after a mile downhill (2 miles in on a 5 mile trail) and i noticed a knocking noise everytime i hit a root, rock, or drop off so i got off to take a look. At some point on the decent the rear shock had literally fallen apart. The shaft had disconnected from the bottom part where the lockout is causing the lockout to fall out and then the spring fell loose. It doesnt look like its broken or anything but how the hell am i supposed to screw the bottom mount back onto the shaft? i get it on about a quarter turn and then it just spinns the shaft and doesnt get any tighter. I probally havent explained this well but if anyone knows what im talking about let me know what you think. it was only my 5th ride on the bike. im looking at fox floats but i would like to be able to ride untill i find one.

Who knows. It probably did you a favor. You need a decent air shock with adjustable floodgate. Get on e-bay and start looking. Think about upgrading to the next larger size for increased travel. Contact BD if you really want another one.
When I'm not windsurfing, I'm mountain biking
