just picked up a white 529HT and im pretty excited1

this bike seems to good to be true looking at the specs. So i hope it is.

Question: Im a mechanic, but have no knowledge of working on bikes... should i assemble and tune myself? any good youtube diy videos out there?

or should i just take it somewhere?

I just built my Fantom 29er4BY4 COMP last week and it was quite simple. Items to be installed were front/rear rotors, rear derailleur, front caliper on the fork, pedals, seatpost and handlebars, (already had the shifters/brakes on it). The suspension needed to be set up for my weight, (put air in the forks/shock), and the controls needed to be positioned to my liking. On mine, the derailleurs were spot on, right out of the box, but your mileage may! You should be able to find videos that go over everything you need to do.

Richard, can you by chance tell me how much that bike weighs? include what pedals you have on it. thanks!

if you are mechanically inclined, with a bike like this, you can I easily do everything yourself...

I did everything myself too. Easy. I would advise getting a bike tool kit, or if you already have tons of unique metric tools, just get the specialty tools as you need them. I bought one of the $50 tool kits of price point, but most online bike parts places have a similarly priced kit. And if you live near ask Aldi grocery store, they had a $20 tool kit that is good too. Might be sold out though.

I had a lot of luck with the performance bike's you tube videos for setting stuff up. Basically, YouTube had most of the answers, watch a couple videos and do what seems right.
