Just ordered up my first MTB...Fantom pro29

    I got the 17, I hope it fits. I'm 5'6" with a 30 inseam.

Any suggestion or tip on the light building or adjusting that will need to be done?

You may find that frame is a bit big. I'm almost 5'11 with 33" inseam and I have a 17" and I think it fits me about perfect. I do like a bit of room for the boys, and if I were to go with a 100mm fork I'd be about as close as I'd want to go with the TT.

No tips on assembly other than it was very straightforward.

The bike will come 90% assembled, but don't assume that it was assembled correctly. You need to check every bolt and make sure it is tightened properly. This means chainring bolts, crank bolts, shifter and lever bolts, caliper bolts, front/rear derailleur bolts and any other bolts. If you are not mechnically inclined you should take it to a shop after assembly and have them look it over.

    Thanks guys.

I hope the 17 is ok. The top tube length is .20" inches longer than a Rockhopper 29 I test rode (17.5). It felt good. I was thinking I could put a shorter stem on if I was to leaned over. I crazy worried about the height of the top tube, until I hit 'em one good time. Lol.

I consider myself pretty mechanically inclined. I have just never messed with bikes. I didn't know if there was some special things to look for or not. It sounds like I need to keep a close eye on all hardware.

    Thanks again guys.

Well, the 17" was to big.

My wife ordered it for me. I emailed Bikesdirect and Matt responded. Super nice guy. He said he will get all the info I need to exchange it for another size. I will hopefully ship it out on Monday, If I get the info.
