Fork question, 2015 Motobecane Fantom Team 29 Titanium

I am looking at this bike, seems great:

Save Up to 60% Off Shimano DynaSys, 3x10 Speed 29er Titanium Front Suspension Mountain Bikes - MTB - Motobecane Fantom Titanium 29er | Shimano DynaSys hardtail mountain bikes | Save up to 60% off list prices on new bicycles

I have a question about the fork. It is a 140mm travel Revelation. Would a fork with this much travel throw off the geometry of the bike? I don't know much about fork lengths. Does more travel mean the overall length of the fork is greater? I see other Moto Ti models with 100mm Rebas and 120mm Recons and I think the geo of the frame is the same.

Would this be a good all mountain trail bike? I am looking for something to handle more technical terrain than my XC bike and with the longer travel fork and wider rims and tires this seems like a good option.

Thanks in advance for any info.

I wouldn't trust the geometry chart that they link to. the "Motobecane" website has some pretty outdated stuff on it. If you have doubts about the frame being able to handle the fork travel from a damage/warranty aspect, it's good. I doubt they've tested the design, but I'm pretty sure they copied someone elses design for this bike. Hardtail 29er with a 140mm fork isn't new geometry or frame design territory.

Bikesdirect did mess up with their full suspension fat bike design though. They should have copied someone elses instead of coming up with one on their own.

The 140mm fork will be longer than a 100mm fork though, and when compressed, it will completely change the HT angle. However, any bike with a 140mm fork will do this. That's why I stick with 100mm forks.
