    fantom team comparison

Hello, I am in the market for a new FS XC race bike. I know someone who has the fantom team bike and I really like it. I am also looking at the Yeti ASR-5 alloy race bike as another option. The Yeti is about $200 more. Which bike is better for XC racing? I've heard great things about the yeti, but the motobecane seems more race ready (it's lighter). I live in MN, so there aren't too many "mountains". Any help appreciated. thanks

Can you post a link on where you can get a Yeti ASR5 Alloy with race components for $200 more than the Fantom Team?

You mean this bike http://www.bikesdirect.com/products/...ntom_teamX.htm compared to the Yeti ASR5. I think it's more than $200 difference.
Anyway, assuming the difference is only $200, for me it's the Yeti. The reason the Fantom Team is lighter is because it' has some components that are made light but useless in the reality like the klimax tires and ritchey roadbike saddle. If the difference is $2000, hands down Moto Fantom Team.
