Anyone Running the RWC 1.5" lower crown?

I currently have a Fly team Ti 29er with a rigid inner fork. I'm working up to do the Breckenridge race this year, not sure what distance, and I'm researching forks. I definitely want to put suspension back on the bike, but everything nowadays is tapered. I came across this: REAL WORLD CYCLING HEADSET ADAPTER/EXTERNALIZER

I'm wondering if anyone has used it to put a tapered fork on their moto?

It'll be the same or similar to putting a canecreek EC44 lower headset in your frame, which many people have done. Might need to file a small amount off the top of the headset cup if the length is too long to fully seat in the frame. Some frames needed it, some didn't. The bigger question is if the fly team has a full 44mm headtube that a tapered fork won't rub against inside the head tube. Some bikes work well, some don't. Based on pictures of the 2012 fly team with straight steer tube and zerostack headset, it'll be really close. That headtube comes in just a little bit, and that could be just enough to rub.
