    Stolen from Eau Claire area

If anybody sees this bike let me know. It was stolen out of a buddy's garage last night in Altoona near River Prairie Drive. It's a 2015 KHS Tempe (Large frame). He just got it 2 weeks ago and only ridden 3 times so it looks brand new other than some very light scuffs in the paint where the cables rub on the head tube on the left side. Still had his old SPD pedals from old bike on it. The bearings on the right pedal are worn out/not smooth spinning.

It sounds like kids have been stealing bikes in the neighborhood, riding them a little ways, and then ditching them. Although with this being brand new, and more than just some old Walmart bike, there's a chance somebody tries to sell or pawn it.

His girlfriend's blue and black (mid 2000's) Giant Boulder SE was also taken.

Check Pawn America in Eau Claire. They have been getting a reputation for purchasing stolen bikes. A friend of mine's daughter had her bike stolen and it turned up there. The people at PA stated they had a 'computer malfunction' which is why it didn't flag as stolen. Yea right....That place is dirty.

Chicken dinner! Buddy just told me that Altoona PD dropped the bike off at his apartment. Sounds like somebody tried to hock it, it was flagged as stolen, and Pawn America reported it to the cops.

The best part is, PA left a tag on it with the name of the person that brought it in.

My dad was once a juvenile caseworker and he asked a staff psychiatrist at one of the correctional institutes once, "What is the common denominator with most of the guys in here?" The psychiatrist's response was simple: "Oh, that's easy: they're stupid."
