STOLEN bike from Uptown, Minneapolis MN

    Hi all,

Please feel free to correct me if this isn't the best place to post. I wasn't sure of all the rules.

I am a bit of a beginner, but I felt ready for the next step, and so I bought my first 'nice' bike. Unfortunately, it was stolen this weekend (Friday night/Saturday morning of the 12th. I am absolutely heartbroken. I was practicing on the trails at least three times a week, and had just started falling in love with my new bike. Please keep an eye out for her!

Needless to say, I'm a bit devastated- I debated buying a new bike for weeks before I finally committed... sigh.

The frame measures about 15" and the tires are 27.5". I know my chances are slim, but every little thing helps! I've been scoping out CL, RackLove, and the local pawn shops as well.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions! I'm new to MN and want to make sure I'm doing everything I can to get her back

    Thanks for your time!

There's no sicker feeling and I can definitely relate. I watch craigslist bikes everyday so I'll keep an eye out for any listings here in western Wisconsin. Best of luck hope you get your ride back.

did you have it registered with Minneapolis? If you have the Serial Number (should have been recorded with the paperwork you got from the bike shop) it can be registered, which would at least flag it if it went the pawn shop route.

Yes! Thankfully, I did have the serial and registered it locally. Unfortunately, I heard that some shadier pawn shops will hide bikes for a month or so before selling them. So I'm checking just in case!!

    Thanks for your help

Did you report it to the police? My son did (I think there was a form to fill out) and got his bike back when it was found abandoned a couple of weeks later. Little worse for wear and tear, but he did get it back.
Remember, nobody knows. So let's find out...
