    Standing Rocks Park - WI?

    Hi,

Any info or comparisons of Standing Rocks to other central WI trail systems? The sand of central state with some structure like Levis? Challenging compared to 9 Mile? A bigger Washburn Lake?

It is not too far off the path to or from our cottage, and it would be great to learn that the area is more exciting than 9 Mile or Washburn Lake trails.

Thanks for any info, and thanks to those doing the work!.

For starters, it's a very nice trail. About 10 miles of singletrack with a mile or so of ski trail connectors. It's not sandy at all, it's nice and loamy with a fair amount of roots and rocks. Not as rocky as 9 Mile, but a lot more elevation change. The hills are short though, steep in places. Some nice little rock gardens and log crossings. The trail is fast in some sections, but the newly built stuff tends to be twistier. All in all a great ride. Here's a link to an up to date map:

Thanks. Finding that map earlier and searching the county govt. stuff surrounding our cottage raised a flag. I hope I can check it out, and will place it higher than a 9 mile stop.

    Thanks again.
