    Southern Kettles trail condition?

    anyone been to the John Muir or Emma Carlin trails the last couple days? Enough foot traffic to make it rideable? Snow still oo soft?

    inquiring minds want to know

    is it worth riding out there this weekend? are the trails all ice slicks or is it rideable? i havent been on a trail in two weeks i must get out.

    Call the trail Condition Hotline...

    They usually have really good up-to-date info about the trail conditions and closures etc...

    i did. as of yesterday the last time they updated was on the 13th which was right before it got cold again so it wasnt telling me much.

    edit: they updated the info this morning sounds like its just a bunch of ice on the trails so they probably are going to suck for riding.

    Cool-blue Rhythm I didn't even know the S.kettles were open until April!

    In the past, the kettles were closed to biking until early April, at least to my knowledge. If that's changed, I guess I'd better try to get out there when it's not so slick, like now with all the snow melt. I haven't called the trail info line since fall, guess I'd better check more often. Any add'l info would be helpful.

    They're open in the winter...

    when it's snow covered and frozen but when the spring thaw comes, they close until things dry out...usually until about April.
