A good time was had by all, though the weather definitely put a damper on things. We had over 5" of rain last week, including 1.8" between Friday and Sunday. Those of us that said to heck with the weather, it may be horrendously hot and sticky, and very wet, but we are going to have a good time anyway definitely had a good time. A number of families with kiddos showed up. Amazingly with the way Cam-Rock sheds water we snuck a couple of good rides in. Though a bit sketchy with some wet bits that are normally never wet.
The Beerita's were flowing (though not real condusive to riding). By 4p we felt the trail would be ready for a ride. A fun afternoon ride was had by all, though disappointingly we came back with everyone, and no one had parts missing. This was followed by beer samplin' and the grilling of much red meat. After some more lawn game shenanigans we set up some movies on the side of the garage. An impromptu fireworks show went off about dark-thirty. At 11 us stragglers decided it was late enough for a night ride. And besides, the thunderstorms were moving in again. We had a nice light show while we got another hot and steamy ride in. We rolled into Heather's for a night cap after midnight. It is fun to get the reaction of the town drunks when you roll up on a mountain bike with a light system! We had a night cap and called it a night as the light show rolled in for good. There was going to be no more riding this weekend But we got about all we could out of it The rest then headed for home as this rain was not going to stop for some time.
Hopefully with better weather next year we can have more late-night shenanigans and can induce some hurling or other some-such. Last time we had the IMBA Crew here our illustrious President just about tipped out of his chair So we have goals to shoot for!
