There are some hiking trails in the Rum River Forest that I am keeping packed down for fat bike riding.

There are three loops and a couple of out and backs. There are some short hills. Mileage for everything is about 4 miles. Obviously there is no grooming, but I have kept the trails packed down after each snowfall this fall/winter.

Google to get the location (halfway between Mora and Milaca, a few miles north of MN state highway 23). Park on Apple St, which runs south of 205th Ave. After you pass the bridge, park at first turn out on right. Enter trails at next trail entrance south of parking spot. The roads in the state forest are not plowed, but do get packed down. So you can also ride them for a little warm up.
