    New and improved Midwestern trails!

I would like encourage riders to join at least one or several trail work days near home or an area you like to ride. My IMBA/WORBA chapter (CORP in Madison) is organizing our work days for the new season, and it got me thinking about how much we got as individual riders for the amount of time we put in, and how much more that would be if more than the same small groups of people would volunteer.

We increased the amount of trail at one area by about 1/3 last year, and even rode most days we did trail work, so the selfish view is we got a lot bang for our buck, and in the big picture we improved the riding for the thousands who bike in the Midwest and made trails that should be around for generations.

Getting involved with an IMBA chapter is also fun. You obviously meet people with similar interests, and it's sure not the slime of the earth who show up to volunteer. Think of it as a get trails quick scheme instead of a get rich scheme.

Give a little and you'll probably get a lot if new and improved trails, friendship and fun mean anything. Give money if you can't spend the time because we do break and wear out tools and and on occasion do not have enough of them. Give a little and get a lot!

Our chapter info is at: http://www.worba.org:16080/corp/corp.html

    State-wide info is at: http://www.worba.org/

    National info is at: http://www.imba.com/

I may as well jump in for Indiana. The advocacy and interest by the government entities has really picked up lately. YOu can find info on the Hoosier Mountain Biking Assocation website which is www.hmba.org
